The patent for the first automated photography machine was filed in 1888 by William Pope and Edward Poole of Baltimore. The first modern photo booth cost 25 cents and produced eight photos in about 10 minutes. Also, the first modern photo booth was used by 280,000 people in the first six months after it was erected.

Nowadays, photo booth rentals are incredibly popular, and they can be seen in malls, and sometimes in restaurants as well. People have started to depend on taking pictures as a way to capture what they may feel are the best days of their lives.

Kodak was the first company to sell cameras to the public, in 1888. Now, they are a staple of every day living and most people sometimes even purchase a photo booth just to have on hand. That may not always be the case, but the rentals are there for a reason.

The word photography comes from the Greek, and can be roughly translated as painting with light. Most people do find photography as an art form, which is another reason why photo booths have become so popular.

When you rent a photo booth, for whatever reason it may be, just remember the history behind them, and the fact that you can now rent them means that you are now able to have a lot more fun than was possible. Sure they existed back in the day, but people are much less stuffy when you allow them creative freedom to take pictures.
