Most of us don’t think about our trash in our day to day lives. We don’t think about the trash removal service that picks up our trash. We don’t think about where the trash goes. We also hardly think about the effect that it has on the environment.
However, all of these things matter. More and more people are becoming aware of how our trash is impacting the environment. Rotting piles of trash can emit incredible amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which contributes to global warming. Therefore, things are changing with how we manage our trash. Las Vegas produces about five billion pounds of trash per year. In the past, all of this trash was simply dumped into a giant pile in the desert. However, this is changing. For example, food garbage is all mixed together and heated up to make a safe soup for nearby farmers to feed their pigs.
