What You Need to Know About Aluminum Coils
If like many of us, you aren’t familiar with aluminum coils, they can be a lot to know. When it comes to making aluminum coils, there are a couple of different methods for aluminum products. Keep reading to learn what you need to know about aluminum coils.
One type of aluminum coil is an extruded aluminum tube that has limited internal enhancements, a higher pressure drop, and no zinc cladding.
More popular is welding aluminum coils. Welding allows for optimizing the internal wall of the tube with an embossed pattern of angles enhancements for added benefit. They include turbulent refrigerate flow to improve heat transfer efficiency.
How are aluminum coils and tubes made? To make our aluminum tube, flat high strength aluminum strips are zinc cladded and embossed. The aluminum is shaped into a tube and welded along one edge. This process creates aluminum tubing with a wall that is 71% thicker than current copper tubing for exceptional strength.
